Hunter Hobson is a devoted family man and successful businessman with a heart for giving back to the community. Through his work with various organizations, he has made a positive impact on the lives of others. His passion for helping others and his love for the outdoors make him a well-rounded individual with a unique perspective.

Professional Accolades

Hunter Hobson has an extensive background in executive management and is the President and CEO of Industrial Minerals Group/INMET Mining, LLC in Knoxville, Tennessee. While under his leadership, the companies have seen exceptional growth in revenue, business development, and operational productivity. Hobson's guidance has helped the company become a high-growth producer with a worldwide presence. Hobson held the role of Vice President of Business Development at Smoky Mountain Coal Company, where he Consistently surpassed goals and managed business development strategies that substantially improved gross revenue and profit margins. He has previously worked for McKesson Medical-Surgical as the Territory Manager of medical device sales.

Scholarship Award Amount

$1,000 will be awarded to one recipient.

Scholarship Eligibility/Rules

You must be confirmed and enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program by the scholarship deadline.

Education

Hunter Hobson received his Bachelor’s degree in Advertising from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. While at the campus, his minor studies focused on marketing.

The Hunter Hobson Scholarship

In his continued efforts to give back to the community, Hunter Hobson has created a scholarship for incoming and currently enrolled college students. The scholarship will award $1,000 to a student who completes the online submission of a 500-word essay on the following topic: Who has been a role model to you, and why?

Interests

In his free time, Hobson enjoys spending time with his family. He is an avid outdoorsman who loves to spend time enjoying the bounty of nature around him. He is an avid hunter and has many interests in preserving game animals.

One of his favorite places to be is around horses. Hobson enjoys working with and riding horses and believes a special bond between people and horses can be therapeutic and healing.

When he’s not working with his companies or giving back to the community, Hunter Hobson enjoys spending as much time as he can on the water with his boys. The family is wildly enthusiastic about surfing and wakeboarding.

Community Involvement

Hobson is an active member of the community who believes in giving back. As a father of three,  organizations that focus on family and children are high on his list, and he is a regular donator to Children’s Hospital and St Jude. Both charities are known for their research and care in fighting pediatric cancer.

Hobson and his family are also enthusiastically involved with  Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered 12-step program for people struggling with hurts, hang-ups, and habits. The goal of Celebrate Recovery is to encourage healing and restoration through small groups and a safe environment. Hunter Hobson wishes to arrest the stigma behind addiction by contributing to Celebrate Recovery and has been a volunteer there along with his family for years. He has been volunteering with the program for several years and is passionate about its cause.

With two of his three sons active in youth rodeo, Hunter Hobson is a  proud supporter of the sport and is a board member of the Georgia High School Rodeo Association. Through his involvement with the association,  he has been able to help with fundraising and provide scholarships for deserving students.

Hobson has also volunteered his time for over ten years as a youth football coach, where he had the opportunity to share his love of the sport with kids and help them grow in their skills.
